While away on vacation this past week visiting our daughter and her family,  George received a voicemail from the Bryan Memorial Gallery in Jeffersonville, Vermont informing him of a first place award, the Alden Bryan Medal,  in their newest virtual exhibit, Land and Light.  It felt like the cherry on top of a wonderful vacation that included daily swims in the West Branch of the Penobscot River, long morning walks and paddles and the penultimate two day backpacking excursion for the two of us to the most remote wilderness in the pine tree state.
